How do Instagram fonts work?
They’re special characters from the Unicode standard that look like letters in a different font. You copy them and paste them into Instagram.
Why do umlauts stay regular?
These special-character alphabets have no characters of their own for ä, ö, ü and ß – so they stay in the regular font and blend in nicely.
Where are the fonts best used?
For accents: your name, a headline, a keyword. Whole texts are easiest to read in the regular font – for screen readers too.
